Numerus is a local-first desktop and mobile application. It has no user accounts, ads, analytics, telemetry, or automatic crash reporting.
Data stored on your device
Numerus stores calculation pages and the current session locally so they can be restored when the application reopens. It also stores preferences, a recent-document list, currency-rate cache entries, and backup files created when you save a document. Documents are written only to locations you choose.
On iOS and Android, Numerus stores the workspace, preferences, the previous local workspace backup, favorites, and cached exchange rates in application storage. Importing, exporting, or sharing a document happens only after an action you initiate. Deleting the mobile app may delete data that has not been exported.
This data is not uploaded by Numerus. You can remove it by deleting your documents and the Numerus application-data directory provided by your operating system.
Network requests
When a calculation needs a current or historical currency conversion that is not available in the local cache, Numerus requests a reference rate from Frankfurter at api.frankfurter.dev. The request contains only:
- the source currency code;
- the target currency code; and
- the requested date, if any.
The amount being calculated, document contents, document title, file path, and other calculation lines are not sent. As with any internet request, the service and network operators may receive technical connection data such as your IP address. Frankfurter's own policies govern its handling of that data.
Links opened from About or Help are handed to your default web browser. Visiting those sites is then governed by the browser and the destination site's policies.
Public website
The interactive example on getnumerus.com calculates entirely in your browser. Its text, values, and results are not sent to Numerus or an analytics provider.
The public website may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and measure page performance. It does not set analytics cookies or create advertising profiles, and Numerus does not send calculation contents, document data, email addresses, or account identifiers because the website has no accounts or forms. Cloudflare and network operators may receive ordinary connection data such as your IP address under Cloudflare's own policies. The analytics beacon is omitted unless it has been explicitly enabled for the deployed website.
“Report an Issue” opens the external reporting service in your browser. Its URL contains the Numerus and Electron versions, operating system, and processor architecture. It does not include document contents, titles, paths, calculations, or preferences. You can review and edit the report before submitting it.
“Check for Updates” makes an unauthenticated request to the Numerus release service for the latest public version. Numerus does not send document contents, titles, paths, calculations, preferences, or a device identifier. The service receives standard network information such as your IP address under its own privacy policy. Numerus does not download or install updates automatically.
System access
Numerus denies renderer permission requests by default. It accesses files only through actions you initiate, such as Open, Save, or Export. “Copy system information” copies the Numerus version, Electron version, operating system, and processor architecture to your clipboard; it does not transmit them.
Changes and contact
If a future release adds telemetry, accounts, cloud storage, AI providers, or another network service, this policy and the product interface must be updated before that feature is enabled.
